"On Proudhon" is the title used for a brief posthumous biography of Pierre-Joseph Proudhon written by Karl Marx. Marx was asked by J. B. Schweizer to write a summary of Proudhon's life and contributions after his death. Marx was frank concerning his views on his historical rival and interlocutor, adding that while it was uncouth to do so, it was not Marx's but Schweizer's responsibility "for having imposed upon me the role of a judge of the dead so soon after this man’s death."
