leftybooru

leftybooru is a booru-style imageboard dedicated to serving as a tag-based repository for images related to leftist politics. It was founded on 21 October 2015 and runs on Gelbooru 0.1.11. The original admin went inactive shortly after its creation and the booru went unmoderated for years until it was locked in early 2020 by booru.org administration; this disabled anonymous posting and the creation of new accounts. With the help of zero, the admin of /leftypol/ on 8chan, a new booru was made on leftypol.booru.org that had copied over the files from leftybooru, but there was a problem with some of the uploads, being that if an image is deleted, it cannot be reuploaded. A /leftypol/ mod then created leftypics.booru.org which was used as a replacement for a few months. In August that year, rodong (the current owner) requested control from booru.org and got access to the account of the original admin, lefty, whereupon the booru was reopened for posting.
