The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) is a Marxist–Leninist political party in Russia. The party was founded in 1993. The party is one of the largest communist parties in the world and is one of the largest parties outside of the ruling United Russia party. The party has been criticized for its support of the current government in Russia and ideological positions, leading to some believing the party to be controlled opposition.[1]
