Access to a wide range of high quality information and sources is important. This guide exists as a compilation of good places to easily access useful resources of different kinds.

Books & Text Resources

Books and writing have always been a key part of all parts of the left-wing movement. Thanks to the internet it has never been easier to have access to books from all over the world and often for free.

Public Domain

Books written by authors who are probably long dead are under the public domain and can be shared freely by anyone. These are compiled in many different places online but with varying quality.

Name URL Notes
Project Gutenburg www.gutenberg.org/ Large collection of free e-Books with a focus on literature.
Wikisource en.wikisource.org/ WikiMedia project focusing on providing high quality versions of source texts and translations.
Marxists Internet Archive www.marxists.org/ Large collection of writing by Marxist writers and other socialists. May have some anti-Stalin/Trotskyist bend, especially in its encyclopedia, however.
Leftypedia wiki.leftypol.org Contains a curated (but growing) selection of key texts full integrated into the rest of the Wiki. Contains external links to other sources for texts where appropriate.
Marx to Mao www.marx2mao.com/ A collection of books and writings which are more Marxist–Leninist orientated (focused on Lenin, Stalin, etc.). Appears to be HTTP-only.

Questionable sources

There are many websites online that provide legally questionable collections of more recent e-Books and texts of books. The largest of these is the Z-Library project which contains over 10,000,000 books and over 80,000,000 articles.[1] Use at your own discretion.
