Paresh Chattopadhyay (1927–2023) was a neo-Marxist scholar of political economy. He was emeritus professor of political economy in the department of sociology at the University of Quebec, Montreal. He was a critic of Marxism–Leninism and Bolshevism and upheld Marxist-Humanism.[1] Chattopadhyay was reportedly formerly a Maoist and was arrested.[citation needed] He reportedly abandoned Maoism.
