Hamas officially the Islamic Resistance Movement, is a Sunni Islamist political and military organization governing the Gaza Strip of the Palestinian territories. It was created by Israel to counter the Left-Wing Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), Hamas was originally promoted by Israel to divide Palestinians.
