• Communist Party of Peru, unofficially known as the Shining Path, a Marxist–Leninist–Maoist party and guerilla organization adhering to Gonzalo Thought which waged a guerilla struggle from 1980 to the early 2000s.
• Peruvian Communist Party, unofficially known as the PCP (unity), the original Communist Party in Peru founded in 1928 by José Carlos Mariátegui, under the name Peruvian Socialist Party.
