The Democratic Party is a political party in the United States and supposed rival of The Republican Party. It was founded in January 8, 1828 by supporters of Andrew Jackson, strangely making it the oldest political party on Earth. Though according to the American Overton window, the Democrats are considered leftist and some politicians in the democrats such as Bernie Sanders are considered far left according to this same Overton window. Yet, in a more factual window, the Democrats barely constitute as centre-left.
