June 16, 2024: Editor vote on principles and aims

The most active editors on the Leftypedia Discord server (also essentially the most active editors on the wiki)  – Aussig, ElPrez, Kandiyohi, Offl1ne, RedParabola, and myself (Harrystein)  – all have voted in support of a proposal to ratify Principles 1-5 and Aims 1-7; to remove Principles 6 and 7; and to add the following Principle:

 · Anti-discrimination: A space where leftists from various identities can contribute and discuss topics without fear of bigotry which plagues many parts of the left.

I (Harrystein) supported keeping Principle 6, arguing that it allows discussion of views held by various leftists and, moreover, falls under the Marxist mandate to "ruthlessly criticize all that exists", including liberal narratives. Other editors unanimously determined that the spirit of this principle already exists implicitly in Principle 1 and the new proposed Principle. As such it is rendered effectively still in force and the issue is resolved. Principle 7, however, was agreed to be poorly conceived and unclear and therefore was removed.
These Aims and Principles, closely based on existing policy and designed to codify the actual current practices of the site, and having been affirmed by the most recently active editors, will henceforth be officially used to guide the growth of the site. This will remain in place until a challenge is mounted by a significant group of established editors.
This is a long-overdue first step to growing Leftypedia into a formidable weapon of the left and of the proletariat. Harrystein (talk) 23:23, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

June 17, 2024: Editor elections

Editors on the Discord server decided to hold elections for user rights on Leftypedia. RedParabola ran for administrator rights first, and was unanimously elected to that role by all participating editors (Aussig, Offl1ne, ElPrez, Kandiyohi, and Harrystein). Aussig ran for moderator rights seconds, and was unanimously elected to that role by all participating editors (RedParabola, Offl1ne, ElPrez, and Kandiyohi).
