Traditionalism

Traditionalism is the belief that adherence to tradition is good, and that progressive ideas such as Feminism are bad and should be replaced with old traditions. It is very often intertwined with religious beliefs.[1][2] It stands in stauch opposition to progressivism. This belief is very common in the right, sometimes mildly (Like for Conservatives) or massively (Like for Fascists). Traditionalism comes in varying degrees of severity. Sometimes it can be mild, being characterized by the belief that some modern things are not good, or it can be very intense, stating that we must revert to very old roles. This intense traditionalism is inherently foolish. Examples of traditionalist notions are that women must work at home to care of their children, that one should not have sex before marriage, and that men should be unemotional. These particular ideas are not necessarily exclusive to a traditionalist attitude, however.

Traditionalism and Rightism

Traditionalism and (Especially radical) Rightism are almost fully intertwined. Conservatism is mainly about "everything is fine right now", and Fascism (And other ultra-right ideologies) are mainly about "We must revert to older traditions and have a strong government". [citation needed] Traditionalists (especially fascists) are often quite bigoted too. Often these traditionalists shun away non-European traditions, and are large fans of the Nuclear Family.

Another view of traditionalism

Although the association of Traditionalism from the Contemporary left to be associated with Liberal Conservatism and the right, traditional Leftists and the left have also upheld conservative values. Examples include James Connolly,[3] Georges Sorel,[4] and Ustrialov.[5] There has also been Criticism of Progressivism of this era, the era of post-modernity, and its effects on the subject of modernity, the individual by the New Left describing the individuals attempt to free himself from himself.[6] Traditionalism is also described as a very distinct and separate political current than Conservatism.[7]

The perfect family is that which best draws out the inner powers of the individual, the most perfect world is that in which the separate existence of nations is held most sacred. There can be no perfect Europe in which Ireland is denied even the least of its national rights; there can be no worthy Ireland whose children brook tamely such denial. If such denial has been accepted by soulless slaves of politicians then it must be repudiated by Irish men and women whose souls are still their own." a notably nationalist viewpoint with contemporary Traditionalist values upheld by Connolly in What Is A Free Nation?, 1916 (MIA)
