Theodore Roosevelt (October 27, 1858 – January 6, 1919) was the 26th President of the United States from September 14, 1901, to March 4, 1909. He is often referred to as Teddy Roosevelt or T. R.. He was a statesman, politician, conservationist, naturalist, and writer. He served as the 25th vice president of the United States from March to September 1901 and as the 33rd governor of New York from 1899 to 1900. He was a Republican.
