Frederick Robert Brennan, better known by his screenname Hotwheels, is an American software developer best known for founding the imageboard 8chan. He created the site in October 2013 based on a split with 4chan over what he viewed a suppression of free speech. Brennan headed the site until 2016, when he became put off by the increasingly alt-right and racist rhetoric which had spread on the site. Brennan's political views have historically been right-libertarian; however, his views have shifted since his break with his own website.
