Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (Sinhala: ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණ People's Liberation Front), shortened to JVP, is a Marxist-Leninist, and formerly revolutionary, political party in Sri Lanka. JVP has been, since it's creation, a major opposing force throughout the political instability in Sri Lanka up to Rohana's death in 1989. Since then members of the party returned to public politics.[1]
