Rohana WIjeweera (July 14, 1943–November 13 1989) was a leader of the Marxist-Leninist political party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (Sinhala: People's Liberation Front), active in Sri Lanka during Cold War. Having been born in British Ceylon to a father in Ceylon Communist Party, he sought to liberate the island from British, and later royal rule in the dominion. Rohana took command in two insurrections against the Sri Lankan government (one in 1971 and the other lasted from 1987 to 1989). Author of the famous speech "We may be Killed but Our Voice will never die".[1]
