The Conquest of Bread (French: La Conquête du Pain; Russian: Хлеб и воля "Bread and Freedom"), also known colloquially as The Bread Book, is an 1892 book by the Russian anarcho-communist Peter Kropotkin.

Contents

In The Conquest of Bread, Kropotkin potrays capitalism through a communist standpoint, simultaneously criticising Marxist handling of revolution (The Paris Commune). He also gives various solutions for having working class prosper under anarcho-communism, for example distribution of clothing and homes through lottery.
